Binetna

Future in Tradition

Live Session "Al Tariq"@Paul B

Live Session "Al Tariq"@Paul B

Binetna, “between us” in Arabic. A space for encounter, transmission and sharing, where music becomes a territory we hold in common.

Born from the meeting of three distinct artistic voices, the project imagines a music in motion, shaped by the musical and cultural legacies of Morocco, Guinea, Mali and Egypt. Memories that do not seek to reproduce themselves identically, but to circulate, transform and invent new forms. What matters here is the dialogue: between cultures, between generations, between inherited gestures and the tools of today.

Traditions meet machines, ancestral rhythms meet electronic textures, ritual gestures meet contemporary production. An electro-organic matter, both raw and fluid, where sound becomes energy, invocation, a passage between the visible and the invisible. The music takes shape in this space of friction and encounter, where influences intertwine without ever becoming one.

Binetna is interested in what is passed on as much as in what remains to be invented. In these living legacies which, far from being frozen in the past, carry within them the possibilities of a future. Memory is not a destination, but a material to be made vibrate, shifted and reinterpreted.

On stage, the trio unfolds an intense and hypnotic live set, built as a path into trance. Rhythms intertwine, textures overlap, bodies and machines enter into dialogue. Little by little, the boundaries between cultures, eras and territories fade away, giving way to a collective, physical and immersive experience. Music that is felt as much as it is heard, inviting movement and that form of letting go in which everyone finds their place.

Binetna does not look back at the past with nostalgia. It sets it in motion. It imagines what it could become, what it can still transmit and open up. A music where ritual meets the future, where memories extend into the present, and where, between us, something continues to emerge.
