Feuze invites you to a vibrant dance, infused with the winds, voices and landscapes of the Massif Central. Combining stringed instruments, the hurdy-gurdy, polyphonic singing, electronic soundscapes and repetitive beats, the group draws on the folk repertoires of the Monédières, the Sancy and the high plateaus to create intense, generous and deeply evocative dance music.

At the crossroads of oral heritage and contemporary creation, Feuze crafts a unique soundscape where folk traditions and electronic music interplay. Ancient melodies are stretched, transformed and reinvented; acoustic timbres blend with drones, synthetic basslines and minimalist textures to open up new spaces for listening and movement. Within this ever-evolving soundscape, the group seeks not so much to preserve as to extend, turning folk heritage into a playground for exploration and creation.

Led by five musicians from both traditional and contemporary music scenes (San Salvador, Brama, Malval…), Feuze develops a hybrid aesthetic that blurs the boundaries between concert and dance, between collective ritual and popular celebration. This exploration now fuels a new phase in their artistic journey: a form of dance concert where the structures of the dance unfold freely, leaving more room for textures, improvisation, trance and sonic metamorphoses.

Voices take centre stage in this adventure. They convey stories inherited from the region as well as contemporary reinterpretations inspired by folklore, social struggles, marginalised figures and reinvented traditions. In both French and Occitan, the texts forge links between memory and the present, between rural landscapes, collective imaginations and current political issues.

Feuze celebrates a living tradition that is constantly reinventing itself. Drawing on the languages, songs and gestures passed down through the generations, the group embraces an inclusive and committed approach, attentive both to the poetic power of folk tales and to their capacity to question the contemporary world. Through dance, listening and sharing, Feuze creates a space where the past becomes a source of invention and where popular cultures continue to be shaped in the present.
